Josh bought us a '99 Honda Accord today! Why, yes, that is exactly what we had in the States, except this one was purchased for the exact same amount of money we got for his old one! Plus, this one is in better shape and has only 40,000 miles on it! It is automatic, not exactly a plus here in the UK, but I still have to drive it on the other side of the road. For those of you wondering, yes, I was supposed to do without a car and Diet Coke. Neither has happened. Moving is stressful- a girl needs what she needs...we get it next week after they replace a couple tires, etc...have I mentioned that everything is so different here?
This is Josh's love letter to me...I can go to the store with 2 kids, rain or shine (ha ha), and we can travel around the UK at our own pace!

WOW!! What a blessing. Car looks and sounds great. Getting around will be so much easier. I'm sure you're anxious to learn to drive on the other side of the street - YIKES. I think that would be hard for me. Let us know how the driving goes!!
I think it'd be hard to drive on the left side, but I'm sure you'll get used to it. I remember being in London once and seeing some girls from Holland driving around with a HUGE sign inside of the car that said "In England, we drive on the left side of the road!" I love seeing all the pictures. It makes me think of home (Belgium)! BTW, I started a blog: http://belgiumtotexas.blogspot.com/

Em,
I'm so delighted that you are going to have a car - I know that will give you a whole new outlook being able to travel much easier with Rebekah and Luke! I'm also glad that you don't have to give up diet coke being the one who got you started on it in the first place! I send you much love from Dallas -
What a husband! He is very wise :) If mama isn't happy, nobody is!
That is so awesome. I had been a little worried about you walking around a strange country with the two kiddos. What a sweet husband you have!

The wheel is totally on the wrong side. :) Sweet ride though.
Rain or shine...
dear, dear em!! i've been thinking a lot lately about my texan friend gone european...so, i hopped on your blog (novel idea) and just had the best time seeing, reading, and sharing in your new life. and the kids--you're right, you said luke was going to look like rebekah!! wow, both are so sweetie... and just so you know, your engaging smile, honest personality, and warm heart are truly missed back here in iowa. along with that, i feel that this MUST be said...kaelia has the same striped shirt w/ lace on the sleeve as rebekah!! love ya friend. shari
Oh Em, I am so happy for you! Other than the fact that driving there is totally different, it will give you some sense of normalcy and freedom.
Way to go Josh! Smart man.;) I am truly so glad he is taking such good care of his fam. Love that!
Very nice! I didn't even think about the fact that you didn't have a car! Wow! How awesome!
What a blessing! I'm so excited that it will make your life easier, well, it will be once you can get used to driving it "their" way. Even though this is a big thing, it will make all of the little, everyday things easier. Love you friend!
How exciting! I'm so glad you will have a car to tote the little ones around in. Living there seems like a huge change for you, so it's great that Josh has blessed you with the gift of familiar transportation! I mean, walking is nice and all - but everywhere?? :) Josh gets many points for this one!
That's a huge blessing! And what an added blessing that it's familiar! Very glad that you don't have to go without Diet Coke or a car...I'm not sure which would be harder for me!
