So Big and a Smorgasboard (how do you spell that anyway?) of Other Random Things

Apparently, Rebekah really is my daughter! Look at her lick the chocolate off those beaters at Carrie's! (in the 2nd pic, she already has a red Cheerio in her mouth just in case you zoom in)

Precious, I know!

Picture us asking Rebekah how big she is...then, look below- that is her answer!
Now, there are a lot of varieties of "so big"....such as with hair...

...or one-handed...

...or confused that she's only getting praise and not more treats!

Rebekah crawled into her exersaucer (she wannts nothing to do with being inside it now that she's such a big girl)...only to get stuck! There was some serious crying as she couldn't quite figure out how to escape her plastic prison!

These were last week at Carrie's while the boys were constructing Rebekah's fort...

Big News from the McCords!

My Brother, Billy, and his wife, Becky, are having a little GIRL! Riley Jane is due mid-September!

As for us, these are from earlier this week. We were very blessed by some men in our church who helped Josh lay a new sidewalk (that would drain better) in our backyard. Rebekah was lots of help, too!
She grabs for our windchime EVERY time we pass under it on our way into the house, so we played with it while the boys laid our new sidewalk.

This is our new sidewalk! There used to be a step down from the gate, but the way they poured it in an incline eliminated that need- yea!

Josh said he used to never understand why poeple would ruin a perfectly good piece of concrete with handprints, but this was his idea!

On Tuesday, Rebekah and I made our weekly pilgrimage to Carrie's...we were joined by Codi and her 2 boys, as well as 10 1/2-month-old Josie...Josie is very lovey having 2 older brothers who never stop kissing her. She was precious to Rebekah who only tried to get away!!

Trying to Stand Up and After Nap Grogginess

This is Rebekah's new tub experience- we'll let you decide if you think she likes it...
Rebekah has decided to by-pass normal development and just push herself up without grabbing onto anything...thought you'd enjoy the process...

Rebekah is precious right after waking up- she slept hard this afternoon and awoke with sleep lines and sweaty-head. It cracked us up!

A Day at the Dog Park

Due to another beautiful day (but with coming rain in the later afternoon), we took Samson to the dog park. So, no, I am not attaching pics of him playing with other dogs, but rather of Rebekah looking darling in her sun bonnet, of course!

I didn't get a pic of her all the way up on her tippy-toes, but this is her mid-pull-up...

Lots of New Things!!!

Rebekah had her 9-mo appt. Thursday. She weighed in at a whopping 17 # (20th %) and measured 29.25 in long (95th%). The Dr. suggested whole milk in addition to nursing so she can maybe get more calories...I think she'd be shocked how much she really eats! Anyway, I had to wake up little one to go to the appt, so I figured I'd make the most of it with some pics!

We visited the Sterners again yesterday...while there, the boys built her a fort, which she seemed to enjoy. While there, Rebekah CRAWLED! She went back and forth between crawling and scooting, but it was really exciting to see her do something new. Then, to top it all, she pulled up for the first time, too (you can see my pink diaper bag in the background- it's balanced on her folded up pack 'n play and she pulled up on that)! Granted , she fell down, but it was still fun! Aaron made me take the second pic so he could shoot in the background.

Today, Rebekah pulled up again and was very scared because she wasn't sure how to get back down without falling, which is what she did...very sad, but I guess they have to learn somehow. Additionally, Rebekah did "so big" today on her very own! I was mortified when my friend Andrea told me that at her son's 1-yr appt., the doctor asked if David could throw up his hand to show how big he was...is there some sort of Mommy 101 that I missed? Who knew that that particular question would be on the 1-yr test? I was so relieved to find out in advance, so Josh and I (mostly Josh because he remembers to do it) have been prepping her for it. Anyway, today she did it herself for the first time! We were so excited that Josh wanted to give her a "treat" (kind of like training a dog- so Scrubs is right- having a baby is like having a dog that slowly learns to talk)...So, Rebekah continued to throw her hands in the air for "so big" and continued to receive food treats. Thus, throughout the day, Rebekah has been throwing her hands up to get food instead of signing "more." A little confusion, I guess!

More Pics from Grandmama's Visit

Mom sent me these from her camera. Who doesn't love more pics of their own kid? :)

With us...

Waiting for us while we were shopping at Ann Taylor Loft...By the way, Rebekah is fascinated with jewelry (that's my girl!), so my mom bought Rebekah her very own necklace!
With my mom, in her necklace again!

Scooting along, still not crawling...

With me, but seriously intent on her new flip flops...

Scooting on the bed during diaper time...
Playing with her nose aspirator- about as close as that thing gets to its intended purpose...
Just looking precious as she scoots...

Reading all by herself!
Having a blast with Grandmama and Carrie...

Finally signing "more" for more food...and also storing away food for the upcoming winter...
