Her New Moves

Rebekah just learned how to push herself up from her tummy to a sitting position. Unfortunately, she gets her legs all tangled up and they bend funny- fortunately, she is crazy-limber, so it' s not as painful as it looks!

On a sidenote, Rebekah is starting to sign "please" when she wants something. It is very precious and further convinces us that she is a genius.

Pretty in Purple

Rebekah was looking particularly cute yesterday- that sounds familiar, doesn't it? I think that about 20 times everyday!

I have one of those watch the baby mirrors- when I look in it as I drive, all I see is flailing arms and legs- this explains it! When I went to get her out of the car after some errands, this was the position she was in! I have one of those watch the baby mirrors- when I look in it as I drive, all I see is flailing arms and legs- this explains it!

The next few are her playing with my keys and smiling at Josh and me... :)

Orange Popsicle!

Rebekah and I spent the afternoon at the Sterners yesterday, as previously mentioned...Carrie like to give Rebekah her first_____- like last week she had her first pickle. Yesterday she had her first popsicle- orange at that! She LOVED it- she kept reaching for it and biting off huge chunks- such fun to see your daughter delight in such simple pleasures!

This is with the 2 youngest Sterner boys, Isaac (her future husband) and Aaron. They are so precious to her- they always share their toys and try to make her laugh. I first started taking Rebekah over at 7 weeks- the boys brought their dinosaurs and legos to her, not understanding that she couldn't focus on them yet. Apparently at Christmas, Isaac brought a toy catalog to Carrie to show her something he thought Rebekah might like! Rebekah really seems to like their attention!

Time at the Res and with the Sterners

Yesterday was Josh's day off so we went to the Res- it's about 5 miles away and we enjoyed "natural" beauty so close! Rebekah loved it, too!

Also yesterday...do not be fooled- this lasted about 2 seconds and she neither pulled herself up nor kept her balance, but look at her daddy beaming at her in pride! She had been scooting her way into the kitchen because she heard my voice only to get sidetracked by that magazine rack. We now have one very crumpled and sad-looking magazine.

Today we visited the Sterners....Scott Sterner is our worship pastor and he and Josh are great buddies. Likewise, I adore his wife Carrie- not only because she is a devoted fan of both my daughter and my blog, but also because she is a dear friend and mentor. She and her daughter, Hannah, babysat Rebekah last week, which was a great blessing to Josh and me! Rebekah and I are very loved at the Sterner household! Last week Rebekah had her first pickle...we were hoping for a scrunched-up expression, but rather got grabby hands! She loved her first pickle juice!

This is Carrie and Isaac today- he is the 4th of 5. While I have claimed him as Rebekah's future husband, I have since learned that I have competition from an older and dearer friend for she has 3 girls of her own! I'm still holding out though! Isaac actually snorted juice thru his nose as he and Rebekah laughed together!

A Very Warm Day!

Isn't she adorable?!

It got up to 80 today! It was wonderful, we loved being outside! We also got a new rug this week so that there is more carpeted play area. I am attaching a couple that show her on it.

This kiss is for her grandparents!

Each movement is such a flurry of energy- I loved these little poses of determination!

This was outside in the swing again!

And this was at Whitey's, an ice cream place in downtown....as Josh ordered for us in a very long line, Rebekah and I strolled downtown...if ever I forgot what an eclectic town we live in, I was reminded! There were so many walks of life...normally they would have ignored me, but many stopped to smile at my litle peanut...nothing like a sweet baby to bring together many different folks!

Lookin' So Darn Cute...

I thought Bunny looked so darn cute yesterday and today, so here are some pics...

This was yesterday at Hearts and Touch, a bi-monthly Bible study for Moms at our church. You may remember Carter, Rebekah's friend who is just 5 days younger. They are always doing the same things at the same time, so it's fun to get together!

This was this morning...those 2 are 2 peas in a pod, both very much morning birds! It's so sweet to see their faces light up when they see each other! Check out her shoes! :)

You can really see her 2 bottom teeth if you look close enough. She is still trying to crawl.

Rebekah's Nursery

My Aunt Korrin asked for pics of Rebekah's nursery since we live so far away...thought I'd post them for all to enjoy since so many of you blessed us with her furnishings...If you can't tell, she has pale green walls, walnut furniture, and pink toile bedding. Our house is a blue and white bungalow built in 1931- we have original hardwood floors, which we love. :) (This is my 2nd post of the day, so make sure to scroll down for the first one!)

This one is just an added bonus, by the way...she was really excited to sit in the chair all by herself!

A Beautiful Day!

I know a lot of ya'll have been enjoying beautiful weather for a while, but we are just starting to get a taste of that here in Iowa City. Josh, Rebekah, and I went for a couple walks this weekend- one to downtown to grab some coffee (it takes about 20 min to get there), one by trail around our city...last week, a deer ran across our path in our own neighborhood! Crazy, I tell 'ya...

This was on our way out to our trail walk- I thought they looked adorable!! Rebekah actually wore the hat for the whole walk! Amazing girl!

This is in our backyard- we love to swing!!

Hey, Mom, why don't you let me take the picture...

This is her trying to crawl....

This is trying broccoli- if I gave it to her myself, the broccoli would not have been received so well...however, anything she can feed herself is game-on! In fact, Josh covered her food with his hand- she immediately and indignantly, I might add, grabbed his hand, thrust it aside, and shovelled as much as she possibly could into her greedy little mouth! I was crying it was so funny- as if I would give her food and then take it away...
