Seaton Park with Mamama

So, I can still use the camera, I just have to use the view finder, thus nullifying the whole point of a digital camera. :( (In the past few days, I have also managed to break our vacuum and the antenna on our car- evidently, you have to turn the car off in a car wash so the antenna doesn't snap. Who knew?

We also happened to get to Seaton Park right when the sun came out yesterday!!!

At the park, we were reminded how much Luke loves to slide!

Looking below, I feel like Luke is going to be trouble...he pulled out every card from my wallet!

This is what hair looks like when you've had an awesome nap!

Luke...wait for it....sat on his own today! Yippee! He used the Malone-go-thru-the-splits move...it was great!

Other news:

Rebekah handed my mom the wooden spoon the other day, "In case she needed to use it." In fact, that spoon did need to be used.

She also has started talking smack- we tell her something like, "You're tired, honey," to which she replied, "You're tired."

She wouldn't come to dinner the other night "because I'm feelin' like I need to clean up first, then I'm gonna have dinner...but I have to clean up first."

That's all I can think of for now.

Updates

1. Luke has gotten 3 new teeth (#3-5) since Mamama has been here! 3 on bottom and 2 on top total.

2. Luke is officially weaned- well, he has been weaned from me since 9 weeks, but he is off the bottle! We dropped the morning bottle last week when my mom was sleeping in the kitchen and I couldn't make a bottle without waking her (jet lag is killer)- I got him up and he was fine, so we munched on Cheerios and said adios to that bottle. Then, we ran out of formula tonight, which was the break point for the evening feed- that one was planned at least and he went down just fine! Granted I have never intentionally fed my kids to sleep- they both locked in on sleeping on their own pretty early on, so I figured he would be fine like his sister was. Indeed. Both have been super-easy to drop feedings, which is such a blessing. Not a tear or a fuss- sometimes I think the Lord knows I need SOMETHING to be easy. ;)

3. I dropped our camera yesterday and it is now worthless. Hopefully, my pics on there are okay- you'll know if I do another post with pics tomorrow... :(

p.s. My Mom LOVES her little cove in the kitchen. We borrowed a wonderful air mattress that fits right in there and she has a noise machine and a cozy little perch that suits her just right. Just wanted you to know that.

Beach and Dunnottar Castle with Mamama

We felt adventuresome again and went to the beach again...and again. :) Rebekah got really brave and decided to tromp thru the water- you might recall this is the North Sea...slightly chilly, or so my mom says, who got dragged with. So, today they both tried rain boots- sadly, this made R a little more eager to go farther to the point that the water came over and in the boots. Oh well! We had a great time!

This was Weds or Thursday.

Today, with boots...

Dunnottar Castle...

Okay- where has this backpack been all my life? Luke LOVED it- I mean, right next to Mama, high enough to see over her shoulder...he didn't make a peep for 1 1/2 hours as he rode along.

Beach with Mamama

Here are some various shots from our gorgeous day at the beach yesterday. We ate at Burger King, then played, then went back to BK for ice cream! Quite a day!

Rebekah finally ventured out into the water and was ever so proud of herself for getting the tiniest bit wet! She ran around saying, "I'm pretty wet, I'm pretty wet!!!"

Luke had a great time in the sand...

decided to show how big he is...

and eventually made sand angels.
