Malone Trip to IA

Josh's fabulous parents just visited us this week- they came in on Saturday and flew out today. Not unexpectedly, they fell in love with Rebekah all over again! Mike and Phyllis played with Rebekah as much as possible while Mike worked on a few house projects during nap time. They blessed us very much and we were sad to see them go! :( They did at least bring TX weather with them- it got up to 77!

Sam was thrilled to have Nana and Pop's semi-undivided attention!

We went to the dog park to let Sam run around and enjoy the warm weather. It was wonderful. Rebekah had a blast and her high-pitched squeals were like a homing beacon for all the dogs.

Rebekah has started scooting-- semi-army crawling, but mostly, getting her knees under her and pushing off them and then dragging her body across the floor- she can go wherever she wants now and surprisingly fast!



Play Pals time- every Wednesday, we new moms get together after naptime...this week was at my house- we had 9 or 10 babies at peak time- pretty fun! This was hilarious- we were clapping and talking and trying to get their attention- Rebekah had us cracking up- she kept putting her hand on her chest, as if saying, Who?...Me? I could eat her up!

Sadly, Rebekah developed a pretty nasty cough and a drippy nose this week...I took her to the doctor and we found out she has 2 ear infections! Yikes!

Rebekah is not crawling- why expend that kind of energy when she can roll where she wants to go? :) We went to Amanda's for play time and Rebekah rolled across the room and under the dining room table where she enjoyed rolling back and forth with various toys for quite a while.

We celebrated Andrea's birthday last week with a small surprise party in the midst of a virtual blizzard! It was so fun to have the couples together again! David just celebrated his 1st birthday on Valentine's Day, Grace just turned 11 months, and the twins are just past 9 months. Here are our little ones with their dads, then their moms....sorry to Jamie for the funny expression, but I couldn't pass up this one of Rebekah...

Sorry for the delay....

Well, Rebekah and I visited my parents last week for a whole week! While there, my best friend Shannon and her precious daughter visited the first part and my mother-in-law visited the 2nd part, too! I loved seeing and reuniting with so many friends- thank you to all who took the time to visit! Upon returning home, my computer had a mini-meltdown, so I am slow to update the blog b/c I can rarely pry Josh's lappy from him!

Regardless of the fact that I adore Elizabeth like my own child, she only had eyes for Aunt Gayle...mental note to self, do NOT allow Elizabeth to spend time with Mom alone before I get there next time!

My parents instituted "Diaper Time" in which Rebekah apparently loves the lack of confinement in being almost in the buff! We have kept the tradition at home, too!

Happy V Day!

Rebekah just turned 7 months old! She is cuter every day and loving life!

Here are some fun shots- By the way, I worked for over 45 minutes to get a usuable V Day shot to no avail beacsue her toys were just too chewable. Then Josh comes home and gets this the second she sees him! Do you think she loves her daddy?

Chick Fil A in Town and other important events...

Chick Fil A is coming to our mall- Josh and I are so very excited! For those of you who aren't privy to Josh's background, this is major news! He managed there for 3 yrs in high school and even got some sort of scholarship from them, I believe!



Other news- Rebekah's forst tooth erupted yesterday- you can feel it, barely see it, so not picture-worthy yet! She looks to be working on another, too! That's our girl- all or nothin'! She is such a stud! She was fussy the evening prior to the tooth, but slept 12 hours straight and woke up with a tooth- much easier than I expected! I am so proud of how brave she is! However, she is pretty protective of it- you really have to work covertly to get a good look!

When we worked the nursery for our monthly time....the nursery workers said Rebekah would do all right if only they had a worker solely for her! That's my girl again- who wants to be left alone for longer than 5 minutes anyway?-- so of anybody has any helpful nursery advice, send it our way!

This is today- lovin' the new-found freeedom in sitting! Did I mention she is teething- gnawing on everything!!!! Right now, she's working on a calculator in the basement while I type!

Hi, Mom!

One of my very favoritest parts of my day is when Josh gives Rebekah her bath. It's not because of the break but because he always sneaks her naked little body sideways around the door jam so that I can only see her head and chest and he says "Hi, Mom!" in a really cute voice that is meant to be her...sounds silly, I'm sure, but it makes me grin every time mostly because Rebekah is so giddy excited to be in her daddy's arms and looking at her mama- does is get any better than that?

This is right after a "Hi, Mom" moment...we haven't caught the actual moment yet b/c he always surprises me when I least expect it! In general, I am opposed to naked pics, but I couldn't resist here...

Okay, seriously,. she's my own kid, but, oh my gosh- how cute is she?!!!!
